Buff Joust 24 hr
Darren Sharman, Matt Shingleton, Anna Street and Rob Masson (pictured above) took part in the Buff Joust, a 24 hour running relay starting over a 5.5 mile course starting midday Saturday 1st September and finishing midday on Sunday. The course was hard and lumpy which made it tricky at night – a little too much at one point for Anna who had a stumble and put a couple extra holes in her knee and elbow, but she’s tough and battled on.
Daylight lifted the team’s spirits and the on-line live results showed it was a close race between the first three mixed teams of 3-5 runners. The Wheelers put in a huge effort to achieve a great result finishing in first place with 26 laps completed (144.6 miles) 2 laps ahead of the next team.
Framlingham 10k
Jan Murton took 1st place in her age group at the Framlingham 10k on September 2nd, completing the course in 51:09.
