The second round of the X – country league last Sunday saw 14 wheelers take on the short ‘n’ fast, sandy course at Woodbridge. The ‘mizzle’ at the start gave the impression we were in for a damp race, but just after the start the sun came out for near perfect run conditions.
As the shortest course on the circuit, the pace is high (well for those who remember it’s short) but the soft sand makes tough going in some sections.
Nicky put in a surge in the final few hundred metres to be the first wheeler home with Craig close behind followed by myself and Ben. Great performances from the rest of the team (and we had a proper team with 4 ladies making the start) Elysia dug deep (cheered on by the team) to make up 3 places in the dash to the finish tunnel.
Next round is Haughley Park in the new Year – always a great race, hope to see plenty of us taking it on.
