On Sunday 22 May three old veterans ** took part in the Great Yarmouth CC 25 based on a new course between Wayford bridge and Caister on the A149, very little traffic on a single carriageway with a light westerly crosswind, John Steed rolled the years back with 1:07:36 ( at 73 a super ride), Mark Eastwood 1:08:44 , and Peter Kennedy 1:12:36.
The following weekend, another group of 3 veteran Wheelers rode the Ipswich BC 10 over at Crowfield on a difficult testing circuit – about as quick as our WSW Higham course. Peter Kennedy finished in 31:37 , Gerry Barton around 32:00 and former competition record holder over the 10 mile distance Martin Pyne had a bad day with his rear wheel jamming against the frame coming home in 30 minutes. So even with his brakes jammed on Martin is the fastest Wheeler!
