Round 2 of the Eastern Cyclocross League was promoted by CC Ashwell, albeit at a venue at Milton Park (near Cambridge) usually used for the season-ending fixture. The course was similar to the one used in prior seasons by Cambridge Junior CC, but in the reverse direction.
It was good day for WSW riders, with a win for Peter Golding in the 60+ category and also another win for Harley Gregory in the Under 16s. Stephen Brook was 25th in the 40-49 race, just one place behind lapsed member Richard Stiff, with Stephen’s son Sam 9th in his first year as an U14 rider. Adi Grimwood made a good come-back ride to 40th in the 50+ event, with Nick Rush pleased with 47th, Karl Hale nursing an injury in 58th, with Dave Griggs 63rd. Megan Free rode well to 22nd in the Women’s event, whilst Ollie Griggs came home as 8th Junior in the combined Jnr/Snr open race. Good riding everyone. See you all next week at the Hillyfields course in Colchester.
