The Eastern Cyclo-Cross League came to a finish on the 22nd Jan at a cold and frosty Iceni Velo’s Snetterton Cross, with Caris Gregory clinching the Under 8 Girls title.
In the 50+ Vets Mike Bowen and Paul Watson fought out a tight battle to finish 7th and 8th with just 14 seconds separating them. Mike sealed his 3rd place finish in the overall league standings. Peter Golding was not too far behind our 50+ vets, racing to 2nd in the 60+ category on the day and a fabulous second overall in the league. David Griggs finished off his season with 42nd.
Matt Denny finished 21st in the 40+ Vets with Matt Shingleton a couple of minutes back in 30th. Giles Prime was 43rd. Jake Towler was the highest Wheeler in the Senior race at 27th with Scott Williams in 42nd. Harry Shingleton raced to 11th in the Juniors.
Megan Free rode with a big smile on her face to finish her Youth Girl season, while in the Under 12s Harley Gregory raced to 13th place. Last and by no means least, Caris Gregory’s second place in the Under 8 Girls secured that well earned title and trophy.
In the overall team competition, the Wheelers came 8th out of the 41 clubs competing in the league in 2016/17
