The cyclo cross season is now well under way, with four meetings to date, two in Basildon, one in Chelmsford and one in Colchester. So far we have had 15 members taking part across the age groups, all enjoying the very mixed weather, course conditions and varied nature of the circuits.

Laura Brown is well placed in the women’s section. laying in 8th after just two scores, with her best placing 4th. Matt Denny leads our contingent in the 40-49 races, 7th overall from four rides, his best being a 12th at the muddy Northlands venue in Basildon. Stephen Brook has also had four rides and lays in 29th position in the league, with Matt Shingleton and Giles Prime having scored in two each. Barry Denny has competed in three events and figures 8th in the 60+ section of the Over 50s. Also in the Over 50’s are Nick Rush and Adi Grimwood having one score each, along with Peter Golding, now making his comeback from a broken hip.

The younger riders are a credit to the club, with Sam Brook in 10th in the U12 league from 4 rides, just ahead of Tommy Dickson in 13th from three rides.
