Five Wheeler duathletes (run, bike, run) were in action at Bedford Autodrome on Sunday 12 March. A rather wet and miserable morning didn’t dampen spirits and there were some great performances, particularly from the debutants. Although very wet, the flat and closed track circuit made for some very fast times. Craig Stewart was first off in the high quality field men’s world championship qualifier, later followed by daughter, Ella, in the first of the junior events. Sam Blackwell and Isabel Moore were off next in the Tri Star 1 race, later followed by Oscar Woodward in Tri Star 3. Sam battled well in the finishing straight to claim a well deserved 4th place by just one second and the ever improving Oscar managed a superb 3rd place podium with a time of 25:24 (for the 2k run, 7.8k bike & 1.6k run).
