As the leaves start to turn at the end of the summer road and TT season, we have the British tradition of hill climbing.
On Sunday 4 October 4 WSW riders (2 female and 2 male) participated in the C.C.Sudbury “Falling Leaves” hill climb, on the 528 metre Watson’s Hill near Hadleigh.
This short hill – max gradient 11% Ave 6.48% – requires an all-in effort, as times will be very close…
Best Wheeler was Sean Purser was 2nd with 47.3 seconds, just 1.7 seconds behind the winner Joe Adlam Cook.
In 9th place was Joe Kaye 52.9 seconds.
Best female Wheeler was Susanne Bosman 1min 11.7 seconds 3rd in the female race, and 9th Geethana Yogaraajah 1m 17.6
The Wheelers had the fastest Mixed team time with 2 mins 51.8 seconds, with Sean, Joe and Susanne.
Well done all Wheelers, especially Sean with his 2nd place and the Mixed team time result.
Thank you all for your efforts, and representing the club.

On Sunday 27 September, Sean and GG also rode the Birmingham Midland Maxstoke Hill Climb. GG won the female category with a time of 6:47 on the 2km climb, and Sean was 2nd in the Open category with a time of 4:24.
